This series will introduce young and seasoned artist alike to a texturing and shading workflow for real-time and cinematic development. In this 3 hour series we will explore texture painting with Mayas poly panting tool before transitioning on over to /substance painter for further development and then we will finalize all our content inside UE4 taking advantage of all its material layering, post processing and lighting abilities.


Key focuses in this series include:


• Setting up and further layering your shaders and unique textures using UE4s unique vector utilities.

• Creating a post processing Volume and setting up Depth of field and screen spaced occlusion

• Turning off Light maps and rendering with Ray tracing and light propagation.

• Creating a simple render booth.

• Setting unique camera focal lengths and resolution.

• Creating high resolution snapshots and animated camera sequences.

• Poly painting with Maya’s poly paint brushes.

• Baking high resolution normal maps using the transfer map system in maya.

• Cleaning up the normal map and refining its contrast using the dynamically linked poly painting with Maya’s Hyper shade and Photoshop.

• Creating layered PBS shaders inside substance painter

• Exploring Substance painter's masking system and layering along with substance affects and dynamic brushes for painting organic characters.

• Exploring the Yebis post processing in Substance painter

•Importing texture files from other applications and connecting them inside painter.

• Exporting your final files for UE4


This series includes the entire tutorial library and the UE4 Project it was created with.
